Dr. Jennifer Tekiele joined Loden Vision Centers with an extensive career in optometry and ophthalmology spanning over 25 years and serves as Senior Director of Optical Services. Dr. Tekiele’s expertise has been in the areas of primary eye care, contact lens technology and ophthalmic business administration. Dr. Tekiele earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo and her Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. where she earned honors in the areas of academic excellence, pediatrics, low vision, advanced patient care through receipt of the Hy and Rose Wodis academic award and Innovations in Contact Lens award. Dr. Tekiele also completed a hospital-based internship at the Cleveland Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Cleveland, OH.
Following graduation from Optometry school, Dr. Tekiele entered private practice in Birmingham, AL and eventually left private practice to become involved administratively as Director of Optometric Services, Regional Director of Operations and Chief Executive Officer for a large platform ophthalmology practice and ambulatory surgery center.
Dr. Tekiele is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, certified in injection and minor surgical procedures and is a Certified Ophthalmic Executive. She has served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for both the Illinois College of Optometry and Ferris State College of Optometry and is active in national ophthalmic industry associations and meetings.
Dr. Tekiele resides in Nashville with her husband, also an eye doctor, and has two adult children that attend Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Dr. Tekiele and her family are active in their church community and she enjoys reading, music, food, travel and boating.
